Gardaí and the Taxi Regulator are monitoring taxi activity in the city this week and will clamp down on outside taxi drivers.
Taxi drivers in Galway are concerned that taxis from other parts of the country are coming into the city to work for Race Week.
They claim it's making it even more difficult for local taxi drivers to make a living.
Taxi driver, Darren Parslow says it's obvious that taxis are coming from outside Galway.
Taxi Regulator, Kathleen Doyle says they will be clamping down on any taxi drivers who shouldn't be operating here.
