CITY MAN SENT FOR TRIAL FOR DRUG DEALING

A 33 years old man has been sent forward for trial to Galway Circuit Criminal Court in October charged with drug dealing offences.Thomas Joseph Barrett, 73 Corrib Park, Newcastle is charged with having a quantity of cocaine in his possession and with having the drug for sale or supply to others at his home on January 20th.Thomas Joseph Barrett is further charged with obstructing and resisting two Gardai while they were arresting him at his home on January 20th He's also charged with having a balaclava, a knife, two walkie talkies and gloves in his possession on the same date which were to be used in connection with a burglary.Inspector Ernie White said Barrett had been granted bail by the High Court earlier this year but it had since been revoked and the accused was now in custody.
