CITY MAN GETS 12 YEAR SENTENCE FOR SHOOTING

A 42 year-old city man has been given a 12 year prison sentence for a shooting in the city last April. In sentencing Anthony McDonagh of 37 Tulach Ard, Circular Road, Judge Raymond Groarke said McDonagh was involved in a cowardly, most brutal and pre-mediated attack which showed no mercy for the victim.He backdated the 12 year prison sentence to the 24th of April when McDonagh was first taken into custody.
