City councillor urges HSE to appoint Play Therapist

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A new play-therapist for the children's department at Univerity Hospital Galway is urgently needed. That's according to City Councillor Noel Larkin, who says that the children's playroom in the Paediatric Unit at UHG has remained closed since last year due to staffing issues. He says that the playroom can only open for a few hours a week due to the efforts of volunteers. Councillor Larkin says that the playroom is an essential relief for children who often spend long periods of time in hospital.
