CITY COUNCIL TO SEND FREE WINTER TEXT ALERTS

Date Published: 16-Dec-2011

Galway City Council has set up a free text message system for people to receive alerts about various services such as roads, traffic and water services.

It's part of the Council's 'Winter Ready' initiative which gives advice to the public about how to be prepared for the winter through its website, twitter and facebook.

People can sign up for the free text alerts through the Council website, galwaycity.ie or by calling the Council's customer service phoneline.
