Galway City Council is reviewing the situation whereby funeral corteges have to arrive at cemeteries in the city by 2pm.The directive was issued in consultation with the priests of the dioceses for the winter months. The measure was taken as it was felt that it was NOT appropriate for health and safety reasons to close graves late in the evening when it was dark. However, a spokesperson for the city council says they are now reviewing the time.
