CITY COUNCIL ENCOURAGED BY WATER TESTS AT GRATTAN BEACH

Galway City Council says the initial results of water tests taken at Grattan Beach are 'encouraging'.

The preliminary result of the sample taken yesterday afternoon shows that E-coli levels are well below the EU mandatory permitted levels.

However, the beach remains closed off for swimming as the results must be confirmed by the HSE tomorrow.
