The Government has confirmed its commitment to constructing the Galway city outer bypass.

Reference to the project has been included in the four-year capital programme.

However, construction of the bypass is still dependent on the successful resolution of the legal issues underway at the European courts, which could take years.

Meanwhile, it's been confirmed that planning on the N59 Moycullen bypass as well as the Oughterard to Clifden route will continue.

The M17/M18 Gort to Tuam motorway has also got the go ahead.
