Tuam Town Council will honour all those who died in the collapse of the Twin Towers in New York on the 10th anniversary of the tragedy.
Ten years ago the town of Tuam was shocked to hear of the death of local woman, Ann Marie McHugh in the attack on the World Trade Centre, where she worked.
Fr. Frank Mitchell will celebrate 10.30 mass next Sunday morning in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Tuam, in remembrance of all who died and in particular for Ann Marie as well as the other 6 Irish people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack.
At the monthly meeting of the Council, following a proposal by Councillor Tom Reilly, it was agreed to honour the occasion by laying a wreath at the Garden of Remembrance in Chapel Lane, immediately after the mass.
