Date Published: 22-Oct-2012
The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Frances Fitzgerald says the government is not complacent about the upcoming referedum and the public must grasp the key principles ahead of next month's vote.
She is to deliver a key-note address in the city this evening [Oct 22].
It's part of a discussion on the upcoming Children's Rights Referendum where the proposed changes to the constitution will be debated by an expert panel.
The event takes place in NUI Galway at the Engineering Building and is jointly hosted by the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre and the School of Law in conjunction with the YES for Children Campaign.
Voters will go to the polls on November 10th.
Speaking on Galway Talks, Minister Frances Fitzgerald says information on the upcoming referendum needs to be as transparent as possible.
