CANNON TO SET UP M18 CONSULTATION WITH FARMERS

Farmers in South Galway could soon have a seat at the negotiating table during the construction of the new M18 motorway.

Fine Gael Senator Ciaran Cannon is hoping to replicate the successful consultation forum used to resolve disputes between farmers in east Galway and the construction company of the M6.

M6 Construction met with local councillors once a week to address the farmers concerns.

It worked so well, Senator Cannon is now planning to approach the contractor of the M18, once they're appointed, to ask them to do the same with local councillors in South Galway.
