CALL ON EDUCATION MINISTER TO PROGRESS GTI EXPANSION

A City Councillor says the government's lack of commitment to further education in Galway City is deplorable.Councillor Padraig Conneely has been calling for funding for an extension to Galway Technical Institute for two years.He is requesting a meeting with Education Minister Mary Hanafin to progress the proposed extension.Coucillor Conneely, who's vice-chairperson of Galway City VEC says GTI is a very successful college and deserves the extension.
