CALL FOR IRISH LANGUAGE SANCTUARIES IN LOUGHREA

A new survey of the Irish language in Loughrea reveals more needs to be done to support Irish language speakers.

The report was compiled by Gaeilge Locha Riach and Galway County Council following extensive research in Loughrea this summer.

The survey suggests the setting up of 'language sanctuaries' to offer somewhere for young people to go outside school hours to speak Irish.
