CALL FOR EXTRA GARDA MANPOWER TO ERADICATE RURAL BURGLARIES

An East Galway TD has made an appeal to the Minister for Justice to provide extra guarda manpower in Galway following a spate of burgularies around the county.Speaking in the Dail Deputy Paul Connaugton was referring to the many burglaries that are taking place during the night in rural areas of Galway.He said in most cases the robbers are gaining entry into the groundfloor of the houses targeted. He told the Dail the worrying aspect of the burglaries is the accuracy of the local information the thieves have at their disposal. Deputy Connaughton wants more guarda resouces in the rural areas to disrupt the activities of the criminals.
