City Councillor Terry O'Flaherty is calling on the local authority to enforce a by-law that will prevent horses and carts from accessing Galway beaches.

The Independent Councillor says horses are being excercised, with carts, on Ballyloughane beach while children are playing in the area.

She is urging council officials to erect bollards on the cobbled area by the Renmore beach, to prevent horses being brought onto the beach.

Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Councillor O'Flaherty warns that an accident will happen if swift action is not action.
