BOOK OF EVIDENCE SERVED ON CITY RAPE ACCUSED

A man charged with raping a UK woman in the city earlier this year has been returned for trial to the Central Criminal Court.
The 24 year old man, who can't be named for legal reasons, appeared before Galway District Court.
Garda Alan Regan told the court he served a book of evidence on the man, who's charged with 9 counts of rape and one count of attempted anal rape, in a house in the city on 5th of June this year.
He's also charged with false imprisonment and assault on the same date.
Judge Mary Fahy returned the man in custody for trial to the current sittings of the Central Criminal Court following the DPP's directions.
