BECKMAN COULTER TO KEEP MERVUE PLANT OPEN

Date Published: 20-Dec-2011

Most of the staff at the Galway plant of Beckman Coulter will keep their jobs.

Workers have been told that the company's facilities in Mervue and Co. Clare will remain open in the short term.

There was speculation that one of the plants, either in Galway or Clare would be closed, but staff have now been told that there will be 30 redundancies.

According to the Irish Times, the finance and human resource departments between the two facilities will be consolidated.
