ATHENRY PRIEST CASTIGATES VATICAN FOR OUT-OF-DATE, UNJUST AND UNFAIR PROCEDURES.
Athenry native priest Fr Tony Flannery is today speaking out about the procedures of the Vatican which he says are out of date, unjust and unfair
The Redemptorist priest and well known missionary was summoned to Rome a year ago to be censored for his views on women priests, contraception and homosexuality
He has not been allowed to practise as a priest since then or to take part in the association of Catholic priests which he co-founded
He has refused to sign statements drawn up for him by the Catholic church hierarchy in the Vatican which would re-instate him
He is currently holding a press conference in Buswell's Hotel in Dublin to publicly announce his position and expose the workings of the Vatican
Fr Flannery talked to Keith Finnegan about why he is speaking out today.
