Armed gang arrested following €1 million raid on jewellers
Garda have arrested four armed raiders, following a robbery at Hartmann's Jewellers in the city centre this morning.
The robbery occurred at 10.45am, where an estimated €1 million worth of jewellery and high-end watches were taken from the premises on William Street.
The four raiders fled on foot, and two were arrested at Middle Street within minutes. The other two raiders were arrested a short time later.
All four are being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act this lunchtime.
The gang is believed to be Eastern European, and at least one is believed to have been armed with a handgun. All of the stolen property was recovered, and staff were left unharmed but shocked.
