An Post to arrive in Caherlistrane to discuss future of post office

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Officials from An Post will arrive in Caherlistrane later this week for a meeting about the future of the post office service. A delegation from the local community, including Mayor of County Galway, Mary Hoade and Galway East T.D Paul Connaughton will attend. The meeting with An Post is due to take place at 5p.m on Friday at Caherlistrane Community Centre. A scaled back post office service had been operating out of the shop in Caherlistrane for the past 6 years. That service was transferred to Headford last month when the shop in Caherlistrane closed. However the shop will re-open on Friday and it's hoped the post office service can be returned to Caherlistrane.
