ALMOST 5 MILLION EURO FOR NUIG SCIENCE PROJECTS

Almost 5 million euro has been granted for 11 scientific projects at NUIGalway.
The funding has been announced by the Government to support projects in ICT, health and life sciences, energy and manufacturing competitiveness.
The funding will be administered through Science Foundation Ireland's Investigator Programme.
The grants for NUIG range from 180 thousand euro up to 1.3 million euro.
The Galway projects involve biomedicine, bioengineering, chemistry and commercially valuable seaweeds.
