22 PERCENT DROP IN GALWAY NEW CAR SALES

There's been a 22 percent drop in new car sales in Galway.

Figures provided by the Society of the Motoring Industry show that 730 cars were sold in January compared to 938 in the same period last year.

The Galway 22 percent drop is slightly higher than the national average drop of 18 percent with over 17 thousand vehicles sold compared to 21 thousand in the same period last year.

Nationally, Heavy Goods Vehicles were down by 7.3%, while Light Commercial Vehicles were down 9.3%.
