18 JOBS FOR LOUGHREA AS PART OF SAFETY SCHEME

Around 18 new jobs are to be created between now and the end of the year in Loughrea as part of a scheme to improve traffic and pedestrian safety.
The Department of Transport has announced 150 thousand euro under the Jobs Initiative for the Loughrea works.
Under the scheme a series of measures will be introduced around schools, such as junction improvements, speed ramps and signalised pedestrian crossings.
Senator Lorraine Higgins says the funding will benefit the whole community in Loughrea.
