1 POINT 7 MILLION EURO FOR CITY VOLUNTARY HOUSING

Over 1.7 million euro has been allocated for the provision of 10 units of accommodation for the homeless in the city.The money will go towards the voluntary housing project at Abbey House, 113 Upper Newcastle.The Galway Simon Community has provided the accommodation, and the funding is being provided under the Voluntary Capital Assistance Scheme.Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Eamon O'Cuiv says providing voluntary accommodation for the homeless is very important.
