Claire Byrne announces new show where she'll 'try things she's never done before'

Never Have I Ever with Claire Byrne launches on Wednesday
Claire Byrne has announced she will embark on a new venture this week with the launch of a brand new podcast.
The popular presenter, who returned to Newstalk earlier this year after leaving RTÉ, has announced the release of Never Have I Ever with Claire Byrne, a new 10 part podcast series that will see her step outside of her comfort zone and explore experiences she has never tried before.
The podcast marks a new departure for the veteran broadcaster, who has spent decades interviewing politicians, celebrities and members of the public on radio and television.
Each episode will focus on something new as Byrne will sit down with guests who have lived through various experiences, discussing everything from life skills and personal milestones to cultural experiences.
Speaking about the new venture, Byrne said,
“Never have I ever is usually the start of a bad decision. But on my new podcast for Newstalk, it’s the start of a conversation.
“Every week, I’m going to admit to something that I’ve never done. Maybe it’s something I’ve avoided, something I’ve been worried about, or something that I secretly want to try.
“And then, I meet someone who has. From people with extraordinary jobs and extraordinary lives, to people with experiences that we are more curious about than we’d like to admit.
“It turns out,” she added, “the things we’ve never done say quite a lot about who we really are.”
The launch comes just months after Byrne, 50, made the high profile move from RTÉ back to Newstalk, where she now hosts the Clair Byrne Show on weekday mornings.
Her return to the station has already proven popular with listeners, with the programme recently surpassing one million podcast listens since its launch.
Never Have I Ever with Claire Byrne launches today, Wednesday June 3, on all major podcast platforms.
