RTE has confirmed that their brand new documentary ‘BUSTED’ will air soon on our screens.
‘BUSTED’ is a new three-part documentary series that brings viewers inside some of the state's most dramatic and high-profile anti-drug operations.
Set to air on Monday, November 2nd at 9.35pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player, the brand new series uncovers the stories behind some of the most significant drug seizures in the world, which unfolded along Ireland's coastline and in communities across the country.
In recent years, the towns, villages and coves along Ireland's west coast have become a major trafficking route for some of the world's biggest drug cartels.
Featuring unique and unprecedented access, real-time footage and in-depth interviews with those at the centre of the operations, BUSTED shines a light on the extraordinary efforts of the Gardaí, Defence Forces and Customs officers who have spent decades battling international drug trafficking networks.
In the early hours of 26 September 2023, 2.2 tonnes of cocaine, with an estimated street value of €157 million, was seized aboard a 28,000-tonne Panama-registered bulk carrier off the Cork coast.
