JUSTICE FOR MAGDALENES WELCOMES NEW HOME FOR STATUE

The decision to relocate the city's Magdalene statue to a more focal point near the old Laundries site is a great tribute to the women who suffered there.That's according to the Justice for Magdalenes Organisation.It follows the city council's recent approval to install a bus lane on Bothar Ui Eithir near the statue.The move requires the statue to be taken away from its current location at the junction of the road with Forster Street.At a recent council meeting, planners agreed to incorporate the statue in a raised flowerbed right beside its current home.
