INQUEST TO OPEN INTO DEATH OF SAVITA HALAPPANAVAR IN GALWAY

An inquest will open in Galway today into the controversial death of Savita Halappanavar.
The 31 year old died at University Hospital Galway on the 28th October 2012 after suffering a miscarriage and contracting septicaemia.
It's reported today that documents given to the coroner heading up the inquest contain official records of requests by Mrs Halappanavar for a termination.
Her husband, Praveen Halappanavar, has consistently maintained that Savita would still be alive if she had been granted a termination.
