GALWAY COMPANY GETS MARINE RESEARCH FUNDING

20 high-end jobs have been announced in the area of Marine Research, including a Galway project.

Minister for Natural Resources Fergus O'Dowd made the announcement at the BT Young Scientist Exhibition in Dublin this afternoon.

REAL SIM Ltd., which is based in the Business Innovation Centre at NUI Galway, will receive funding under INFOMAR.

The Galway project, is to develop an online game where participants can build up a fishing fleet and fish farms.

The game will also include real world data and figures on fish stock numbers from the Marine Institute.
