Young Galway filmmaker chosen to show short film at South Korean festival

'After the Party', a short film made by Harry McGrady from Oranmore, who is studying film-making at Galway Community College, has been selected to screen at the Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival in South Korea which began on Wednesday, July 8 and runs until Monday, July 13.
The film, which is just under five minutes' long, follows the action when Brad (Victor Fox) shows up at Greg's apartment.
All Greg (Archer A) wants is a quiet afternoon and a chance to clean his apartment, neither of which is likely to materialise, given that his caller who is dressed from head to toe in Hawaiian gear, red hair askew, swinging a mini-trumpet and is armed with a bottle of wine. He needs 'to use the bathroom'.
Greg's plans for peace and quiet definitely fall apart moments later as Brad rushes from the toilet, screaming that he's found cocaine. Their increasingly unhinged debate over what to do with this mystery bag of white powder ends in a 911 call, with two self-declared “good boys” way over their heads.
“I made the film for the monthly Little Cinema event in Galway during the 'One Take' theme while on Erasmus with my college,” says a delighted Harry, who flew to South Korea on Wednesday for the festival.
This is the 21st Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival, held in the second biggest city of South Korea, which offers young filmmakers from all over the world a chance to show their work to young audiences.
