Youth theatre group welcomes applications
Macnas Theatre Company is offering a new programme in performance and theatre for young people.
The group which specialises in spectacle, is looking for people aged between 14 and 19 years to learn all about spectacle theatre via the Macnas Spectacle Youth Theatre.
Auditions for this programme will be held on April 19 from 5pm to 6.30pm at the Macnas workshop at Fisheries Field in Galway City.
The company says no previous experience is needed as the venture is accessible and inclusive.
“All that is required is enthusiasm, commitment and imagination,” says Victoria McCormack of Macnas.
“If you are curious about performing and like the idea of interacting with large scale images and big wild ideas, then Macnas is the youth theatre for you.
“New members will explore physical theatre, drumming, mask work, stilt-walking, puppeteering, working with fire and special effects for indoor and outdoor spectacle theatre. We are very excited to share our knowledge and experience with a new generation!”
