Whole Lotta Voltage share passion for AC/DC at Monroe’s

AC/DC’s gig in Dublin last July was one of the greatest shows of 2015, but that was the only one Irish date on their worldwide Rock Or Bust tour. Anyone who missed out, or who can’t get enough of the Australian legends can console themselves when tribute act Whole Lotta Voltage come to Monroe’s Live on Friday, January 29.
This Dublin-based band formed in 2010, featuring five members from four different countries, all united by their love of AC/DC. Lead singer Simon Jordan does a rip-roaring tribute to the band’s first lead singer, the late Bon Scott, the man behind the vocals for classics like Whole Lotta Rosie, Highway To Hell and It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Want To Rock n Roll). Jordan also sings songs that are synonymous with Brian Johnson, who replaced Scott in 1980, so fans can expect to hear You Shook Me All Night Long, Thunderstruck and Back in Black.
Christopher Cole takes the role of living legend, Angus Young, re-playing every famous Angus riff from the Scott era while delivering his non-stop version of Angus’s youthful whirlwind stage presence. Andy Goddard offers the Cliff Williams bass lines, while Matt Burazin provides drums. Sean Quigley completes the line-up on rhythm guitar.
A good way to blast those January blues away. Doors 10pm €10/€7 online.
