Tulla Céilí Band for fundraising night in memory of Ann Marie

The legendary Tulla Céilí Band will be out in force at O’Sullivan’s Hotel, Gort, on this Saturday, May 5, from 9.30pm for a fundraiser in support of the Memorial Breast Cancer Research Fundraiser.
This event is being organised by Mary and Andrew Coen in memory of their daughter, Ann Marie Coen-Flanagan, who lost her battle with breast cancer two years ago.
“Ann Marie was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2000,” Mary says. “She had surgery and treatment under the care of Professor Maccon Keane, Dr Maeve Pomeroy and Oncology Nurse Mary Grealish. She recovered well and enjoyed good health up to 2008. Unfortunately, when her cancer returned, it was in her bone.”
That was a very tough time for Ann Marie and her family, but she remained upbeat, according to her mother; “refusing to give in to her illness and always with a smile”.
Ann Marie, who fought valiantly right up to the end of her life on December 31, 2015 was always grateful to the medical team who looked after her so well.
