Trust and diversity the secret as EDFT take off

Fans of dance music, rock music, feel good music and everything in between will be excited to hear of up-and-coming local band, EDFT, who are playing their debut gig in Kelly’s this month.
Influenced by a diverse range of bands and artists such as Kings of Leon, Calvin Harris, Faithless and Rage Against the Machine, EDFT play a high-energy brand of guitar and drum-based dance music, merging euphoric grooves with songs influenced by their lives and the rural landscape that surrounds them.Experimentation with guitar synths, whammy pedals, world grooves and many more effects is what gives the band’s sound an edge. In fact, there’s so much going on in EDFT’s music that it’s hard to believe this is only a three-piece band.EDFT stands for Éimh, Dave and Feef Tunes, named after the three members of the band, Éimhín Cradock, Dave Donoghue and Fiachra Cradock. The three musicians have known each other all their lives and trust each other implicitly.“We essentially act as three producers where the songwriter has a veto on everything on their own song; hence the name of the band,” says Éimhín, the drummer for EDFT.Each of the three musicians has a long history in the music business and each has a list of bands as long as their arm to add to their CV.Éimhín alone has played with some of Galway’s finest original acts, making a name for himself with The Saw Doctors, Noelie McDonnell, The Cabin Collective, This Nachez, The Latchikos and plenty more.
