Real Deal as Phil Cosby embarks on mini tour of Galway

Singer-songwriter Phil Cosby will be embarking on a mini-tour of Galway this month when he plays Monroe’s and Róisín Dubh in Galway City and Mullarkey’s of Clifden. The London based songwriter has just released his debut album, The Deal, which he wrote, produced and recorded. For the final stage of mixing, he called in the hugely experienced Phil Brown.

“Two Phils, so it’s a little bit confusing,” he laughs. “He’s sort of the big name on it. He’s worked with a lot of people; he’s got one of the greatest CVs around, really. He’s worked with everyone from Led Zeppelin to Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Bob Marley. But also people who are very specific to the music I do, like John Martyn and Talk Talk.”

Phil Cosby oversaw every aspect of The Deal before album reached the mixing stage. It must have been difficult to hand it over to someone else.
