Message about life in new comedy show about death

Comedian Grace Mulvey will bring her new show, Did You Hear We’re All Going to Die? to the studio space in the Town Hall Theatre next Thursday and Friday, February 12 and 13, at 8.30pm nightly. It’s as part of the first national tour from Dublin-born Grace.
Her debut show, Tall Baby, was named by Rolling Stone magazine as one of its “standout shows” of the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe, while Grace was also the winner of the inaugural BBC Galton and Simpson Bursary for Comedy Writing.
Now based in England, this is her first stand-up tour of Ireland.
In the show, Grace asks a fundamental question of her audiences: ‘Does accepting the end make us better at life?’
This is a woman who doesn’t fear death. Her fears include back fat, the rise of fascism, and low-rise jeans.
Growing up in a household where death was treated with cheerful pragmatism and funerals were considered better craic than weddings, Grace learned from a young age that the end is inevitable. With a dad who casually reads his Will over lunch and a mum who takes a great funeral selfie, her approach to life and loss has always been unconventional.
This darkly funny show explores everything from her teenage devotion to Jesus, Mother Teresa and Nickelback to how grief helped shape Grace’s outlook on living.
She tackles existential dread, professional funeral planning, and why people losing their minds over gender-neutral toilets might actually be connected to death.
Grace, who has supported Joanne McNally, Neil Delamere and Helen Bauer on tours, was a finalist in the Vodafone Irish Comedian of the Year 2017 and featured in the international Screenwriters Association TV pilot, as well as Funny Women's Ones to Watch 2019.
Having amassed millions of views online, the co-host of podcasts The Jump and Fad Camp is now making her mark on the UK and Irish comedy scene.
