Mark Geary set to give his all at Monroe's gig

The key to success in the music industry is to just keep touring, according to Dublin musician Mark Geary who is set to play Monroe’s Live in May.Mark not only talks the talk, but walks the walk as he splits his time between Ireland and New York City; he’s been swapping between the two for the past 20 years.
Touring and performing live is Mark’s lifeblood and he has performed with musicians as diverse as Joe Strummer, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Coldplay, The Frames and the Swell Season.“There’s something easy about touring – going from gig to gig. There’s something pleasant about it. You try to sleep, try to eat, do the sound check. It’s really where you learn what it means to be a musician,” he says.Mark spent his early years performing in NYC at the famous Sin-é Café, alongside renowned musicians such as Jeff Buckley, garnering respect and attention from both audiences and fellow artists.Collaboration is important to Mark who enjoys working with other musicians. One of his most recent collaborations is a new version of his song Christmas Biscuits – a charity single for St Vincent de Paul here in Ireland. The single was released last November and was recorded with Glen Hansard.
