KAVA artists put plastic and print in the spotlight

The Kinvara based artists’ collective, KAVA, is doing its bit to put the spotlight on the scourge of single-use plastic, with a new exhibition at the Russell Gallery in New Quay.
The artworks were created by KAVA artists during this past week's workshop in The Courthouse, Kinvara, using plastic waste material which they collected on the seashore at Finavarra (New Quay) last Monday. The title of the show, Witches’ Knickers, comes from the slang term to describe plastic snagged on trees and bushes.
The exhibition, a collaboration between Kinvara Area Visual Arts and The Russell Gallery, New Quay will mark the conclusion of an experimental workshop hosted by KAVA to highlight the environmental impact of single-use plastic. The pieces on show were created as part of the workshop.
Witches’ Knickers will open this Saturday, February 17, runs in the Russell Gallery, New Quay, until March 3.
