Garry Tallent plays Galway on break from The Boss

Everyone’s got a job they have to clock in for, but imagine if your boss was The Boss? Well, that’s the case for Garry Tallent from the E Street Band, who plays Monroe’s Live on Saturday, June 3.
Tallent recently released the rollicking, rockabilly Break Time.
The album opens with Oh La La which features his fellow E Streeter Nils Lofgren. Music fans might also know that Lofgren played piano and keyboard on Neil Young’s 1970 classic After the Gold Rush. Nice company if you can keep it!
But back to Garry Tallent, who is clearly loving life on the road at the age of 67. He’s a founding member of the E Street Band – which means he has been playing bass with Bruce Springsteen for 45 years. You can only imagine the air miles Tallent has clocked!
But it also means he has played on some of the finest albums in the American musical canon – Born to Run, The River and Born In The USA to name just a few. And then there’s the force of nature that Springsteen and the E Street Band are live. Three-and-a-half-hour sets are the norm for Tallent, with The Boss changing his set from night to night.
Tallent will be bringing a seven-piece band to Galway – you’d be mad to miss this!
