Galway storytelling group Moth and Butterfly invite you to 'Change Your Mind'

'Change your Tune' is the theme of a night of storytelling and improvisation that will be presented by Moth and Butterfly on Monday, June 15, in Galway City’s Rouge Restaurant.
It combines the art forms of storytelling and improvisation and there will be three types of storytelling on the night.
The first, are Moth-style stories which are short, true, thematic and feature the teller as the central character. Stories should be a maximum of eight or nine minutes and be about something that matters to the teller. Humour is welcome but isn’t necessary.
Then there are Improvised stories, created fresh on the spot, with no two being the same. The Moth and Butterfly group have different improvisational formats including: 'Stories from the Hat' (where the audience picks an object for the story) and 'Found in Translation' (where tellers improvise and tell bilingually).
Free-fall stories are all other stories that still fit the theme, for example, a true story about someone else or a piece of fiction.
'Change your Tune' is an oral storytelling event for tellers and listeners. Audience participants will be selected by a 'names in a hat' system.
The Moth & Butterfly group was founded by storyteller, writer and performer Órla Mc Govern. It is made up of professional performers, writers and storytellers, who are often joined by guest artists.
They are inspired by the Irish storytelling tradition, the transformational nature of improvisation (Butterfly), along with other personal story styles from around the world, particularly the Moth style storytelling movement.
Rouge on Dominick Street serves platters, snacks, wines, beers, coffees, teas and other drinks.
Tickets available on Eventbrite through: www.mothandbutterflystories.com. Audience for this event is 18+ and tickets are non-refundable.
