Some of the world’s top performers will join Irish artists for the Baboró International Arts Festival for Children, which runs from October 12-18.

International visitors include the Mimirichi Clown and Pantomime Theatre from Ukraine whose show Paper World has already wowed audiences in Europe, South America and Japan, receiving rave reviews everywhere.

Using massive sheets of paper, Mimirichi transform the stage into a shadow screen, a playground and a foil for their comic timing. Paper World, with its improvisation and live music, encourages children – and adults – to let their imaginations run wild as they collaborate with the crazy clowns.

Paper World is suitable for ages 4 and older and runs from Monday, October 12, to Wednesday, October 14, at the Black Box Theatre.

There will be performances for both the general public and schools – school performances are open to the public. Schools are encouraged to make a day of it and participate in some of the workshops and events on offer throughout Baboró.

Booking at Galway Town Hall Theatre, 091 569777, or at tht.ie or www.baboro.ie. Tickets €9 or €30 for a family ticket of four.

See baboro.ie/programme/ for the full programme.
