Christine kits out cast in style for musical comedy

If you want a job done, give it to a busy woman. That saying certainly applies to Christine Bourke-Clancy, who is in charge of costumes for the latest show from the Patrician Musical Society.

The Producers, which is being directed and choreographed by Peter Kennedy,  will be staged at the Town Hall Theatre from Tuesday next, March 4 to Sunday March 8 and Christine is not only in charge of costumes. As a member of the PMS committee she has also been involved in scheduling rehearsals and liaising with the directors and choreographers to ensure everything is running smoothly.

On top of that, Christine, who runs a dressmaking and alteration service, is currently in the process of opening a new shop selling once-worn wedding dresses and evening wear at Briarhill Business Park.

But she seems to be taking everything in her stride as she explains how she has sourced costumes for 46 cast members, some of whom will need six or seven different outfits, while others will need the relatively small number of four!

The Producers is a major undertaking for the PMS, being the Society’s biggest show in a long while and it is a challenge, she says.
