Art and murder meet in Eoghan’s new novel – the first in a trilogy

A host of readers and writers gathered at the Shearwater Hotel, Ballinasloe, for the eagerly anticipated launch of Ballinasloe author Eoghan Egan’s new book, Hiding in Plain Sight, on Saturday evening.
It was a proud night for the local writer as he launched the first in a trilogy of crime novels set in the Midlands. Hiding in Plain Sight introduces readers to a successful businessman who seems to have found the perfect recipe for getting away with murder. No bodies, no evidence. No evidence, no suspect. But, then graduate Sharona Walters discovers a multi-million euro art scam in play. She delves in, unwittingly putting herself on a direct trajectory with danger as the killer accelerates his murder spree. As she peels away his public persona and exposes the psychopath underneath, the small Midlands town at the centre of the action suddenly has no hiding place to offer.
With fans travelling from as far away as Wicklow, Meath, Dublin, Kildare, Strokestown and Tullamore, the book was launched by fellow author Mia Gallagher, who has been Eoghan’s mentor since 2012. This was followed by an introduction to the novel and a reading by the author.
Hiding in Plain Sight is available in paperback and also as an eBook on Amazon. Writer and artist Emily Rainsford has narrated an audio version of the novel and she read the opening pages of the book as part of the launch. The audiobook will be available on Audible in the coming weeks.
