Online registration process proves troublesome

In an attempt to create a modern system the Galway FA introduced online registration for all players for the new season. The idea can be classed as nothing but progressive, but like all good ideas, it has also thrown up a lot of issues.
For those who follow the ongoing action and keep an eye on the various league tables, it is difficult to fathom out what is going on. League tables are amended without notice to anyone and in some cases have been changed back again as decision are reversed – again unannounced.
A loss of points is one thing, but substantial fines have also been laid on many impoverished clubs as further punishment for their indiscretions, such as incorrect names.
Ironically, the Oscar Traynor squad just released by the Galway FA yesterday morning has three spelling mistakes in names and has in one case used the incorrect forename name. One wonders where the fine for this misdemeanour should be sent.
