Salthill Devon had announced details of the 2026 edition of the Salthill Fives, which as always will be held over the June Bank Holiday weekend, but this year's dates actually fall in May, with the event being held on Saturday and Sunday, May 30 and 31.

This year's tournament, which will be held in Salthill Park, will follow the same format as last year, with the men's competition seeing each team guaranteed a minimum of three games.

In addition to the football, visitors to Salthill Park can join in on outdoor gym and yoga classes; while there will also be a food village, and a packed lineup of live music performances.

Tournament Director Eugene Greaney emphasised that the Salthill Fives, while being staged in Salthill, by Salthill Devon, is a tournament “for all Galway”.

“It has become the event it is because it’s for everybody,” said Greaney, who thanked the sponsors, the referees and the City Council for their continued support, “without whom it would not be possible”.

To keep the young ones entertained, there will be free skills coaching for over 100 underage boys and girls, provided by Salthill Devon coaches; while a range of family-friendly activities will also be on offer.

“We guarantee all participants and attendees a fantastic weekend,” says Pete Kelly, of Salthill Devon FC. “We’re thrilled to bring so many exciting elements to the event, from the tournaments to the live music and everything in between,” he said.

The heart and stroke charity, Croí, is the event's charity partner, and this year it will double its testing capacity, with two cardiovascular nurse specialists on-site, offering free blood pressure and pulse checks while also providing information on heart disease and stroke prevention.

The tournament’s main sponsor again this year is Ground & Co. The pitch sponsors are Seven Bar, Seapoint Leisure and GHR consulting; Curry’s Funpark will sponsor the ‘Hall of Fame Award’ with Smyths Toys sponsoring both the Boys and Girls U 13 Tournaments
