Corinthians and Galwegians maintain impressive form

Corinthians and Galwegians maintained their push for promotion from Division 1b and Division 2a respectively following impressive wins over the weekend.
Corinthians were 29-12 winners over Blackrock in Cloonacauneen on Saturday afternoon, and in the process secured their first bonus-point of the season – despite the fact it was their 10th win in 11 games.
Eoghan Masterson crossed for their first try in the eighth minute, which was followed by tries from Conor Murphy, Sean O’Hagan and John Burns, while Miah Nikora kicked nine points with the boot in his first start at club level, and just his second competitive start of the season due to injury.
Meanwhile, over in Glenina, Galwegians hit visitors Naas for seven tries in a 44-17 win to stretch their lead at the top of Division 2a to 12 points with four games remaining, and while two of those games are against fellow promotion chasers NUIM Barnhall (second in table) and City of Derry (fourth) in their next two games, they are solid bets for automatic promotion to Division 1b.
They had seven different try scorers against Nass, with Brian Murphy, John Cleary, Colin Conroy, Jason East, Jerome Harrimate, Rory Parata and Brian McClearn all dotting down.
