PADRAIC JOYCE has named the Galway senior football team to take on Leitrim in the Connacht Senior Football Championship semi-final on Saturday afternoon.

Cillian McDaid, Damien Comer and Shane Walsh have all returned from injury ahead of this weekend’s Connacht semi-final, providing a major boost to the Galway’s championship prospects.

Conor Flaherty retains the goalkeeper spot after starting the last two games in the National Football League. In defence, Sean Mulkernin is handed his first competitive start since the FBD League final in January, joining Johnny McGrath and Cian Hernon in the full-back line.

John Daly is set for his first start of 2026 and lines out in the half-back line alongside Dylan McHugh and Liam Silke. The midfield pairing includes captain John Maher partnering Paul Conroy.

In attack, McDaid returns from injury and features in the half-forward line with Finnian Ó Laoi and Liam Ó Conghaile of An Spidéal. Oisín Mac Donnacha is set to make his championship debut for the county on Saturday and completes the full-forward line with Robert Finnerty and Cein D’Arcy.

Padraic Joyce has named Sean Kelly, Comer and Walsh among the substitutes for Saturday’s clash, while Jack Glynn and Matthew Tierney are not included in the 26-man panel.

The action gets underway on Saturday at 3:30pm in Carrick On-Shannon, with the game being shown live on GAA+. Leitrim come into this clash on the back of a surprise victory over Sligo in the Connacht SFC quarter-final.
