Burke demands Galway minor hurlers to push on in Leinster Championship title race

GALWAY minor hurling manager Kenneth Burke said his side are focussed on maintaining their unbeaten record in the Leinster Minor Championship against Dublin in round three.
The Tribsmen make the trip to Parnell Park on Saturday (2pm). Galway have recorded victories over Laois and Kilkenny in their opening two games of the Leinster SHC.
“You have to stay going, you have to stay performing and the results will look after themselves. There’s plenty of stuff to work on that we didn’t do well, we’ll have to try and rectify that,” said Burke.
Galway dug deep to secure a narrow 0-22 to 3-11 victory over Kilkenny last Saturday. Tadhg Mac Cárthaigh made his return from injury and he was crucial in their win, scoring 0-5 from play at Nowlan Park.
“Tadgh got some unbelievable scores, as soon as he gets the ball in his hand he is very hard to stop. He works hard as well and everyone around him does too. We are trying to find each other in the best position, that's what we want, we don’t really care who scores, once we get scores.
“We knew coming to Nowlan Park, it was going to be a battle, in fairness to the boys they dug in, created lots of chances again and probably left a few behind us. Kilkenny are never going to give up, they stayed pushing hard even the last ball going into the square, only two points in it. Thankfully, we defended well and got out at the end, worked very hard and happy with the performance,” added the Galway manager.
The Leinster MHC semi-finals take place on Saturday, May 9.
