Galway senior hurling team named for Leinster Championship clash with Kildare
MICHEAL DONOGHUE has named the Galway senior hurling team to face Kildare in round three of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship. The round three Leinster SHC fixture gets underway on Saturday at 3:30pm in Cedral St. Conleth's Park, Newbridge.
Donoghue has made four changes from the side that defeated Offaly in round two of the Leinster SHC. Defender Joshua Ryan and midfielder Tiernan Killeen have both made their returns from their injuries, while Conor Cooney and Colm Molloy are set to make their first starts of the Leinster SHC.
Aaron Niland and Jason Rabbitte have both be chosen to be rested for Saturday’s trip to Kildare as both players will be involved on Wednesday evening’s Leinster U20 Hurling Championship semi-final between Galway and Wexford. Ronan Glennon and Darragh Neary drop out of the starting XV.
The Tribesmen will be aiming to make it three wins out of three after recording victories over Kilkenny and Offaly in the opening two rounds. Their opponents Kildare are still searching for their first win of the Leinster SHC after suffering defeats to Wexford and Dublin.
