The countdown clock to the first of the two biggest days in the GAA calendar has kicked off

After a frantic season where the games came thick and fast, we are down to just two teams - Galway and Limerick are left standing with the Liam MacCarthy Cup on the line.

With a lot of excitement surrounding the big day, here is all you need to know ahead of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship final this Sundya July 19 at 3:30.

Team news from both camps is Galway are reporting a few niggles but should be in a position to play the side that overcame Cork in their last-four tie, while Limerick are expected to have a full panel to choose from.

This may mean one change from the semi-final win as captain Cian Lynch should be available to start having been on the bench for the semi-final win over Clare.

Colm Lyons of Cork will be in charge of his second final. James Owens - who many tipped to be the man in the middle - and Dublin's Chris Mooney are the linesmen.

Galway are back in their traditional maroon this weekend - but future ties between the counties may see colour changes. The Irish Examiner reported this week that the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee, their medical, scientific and welfare committee and the commercial department are working on new guidelines aimed at making games easier to watch for supporters who are colour blind.

These guidelines are expected to mean clashes between the Treaty and Cork or Galway will mean one side will have to change their strip.

For club secretaries - similar to sports journalists at local newspapers! - this is the busiest week of the year. Tickets for the All-Ireland final do not go on general sale and are distributed between clubs.

While competing counties get sizeable allocations, every club in the country gets tickets so if you were unsuccessful with your home club, you can dust off the contacts book.

For those who won't be in Croke Park, the match is televised live on RTE and BBC. The game will also be shown on a big screen at the Big Top in Fisheries Field as part of the Galway Arts Festival.

And we will have a puck by puck blow of the game on our live blog on Sunday also.
